Body Only Padlock

Body Only Padlocks
If you already know what a body-only padlock is, you probably don't need much explanation. But it's worth spelling out, because buyers new to keyed alike systems or master key setups sometimes miss the logic: the body is where the cylinder lives, and the cylinder is what makes a padlock work within a system.
That's exactly the application these Squire Stronghold CEM and EM bodies are built for. CEM stands for cylinder entry module — the body accepts a separate cylinder, which is what lets you key multiple padlocks alike or bring them into a master key system without replacing the hardware each time. It's the practical choice on any site where a dozen gates, stores, or access points need to be managed with a coherent key structure. Replace the cylinders, not the bodies. Re-key without reinstalling.
Squire's Stronghold range is about as serious as padlock hardware gets in the UK market. The closed shackle variants — the SS CEM and SS50 CEM — leave minimal exposed metal, which matters when bolt cutter resistance is a genuine requirement rather than a box-ticking exercise. The open shackle SS EM suits applications where the shackle needs to reach a staple or hasp with more clearance, and the long shackle LS64 covers those awkward installations where nothing else quite fits.
The marine grade versions — the SS50 CEM and SS50 EM — use materials specified for coastal or high-humidity environments. If you're installing on a harbour, a boat yard, or anywhere that sees salt air regularly, the standard grade will fail earlier than you'd want. The marine spec is the right call, not an upsell.
These are trade products priced for what they do. If you're building or extending a keyed alike padlock system for a commercial site, or specifying body-only replacements for an existing Stronghold installation, this is the range to work from.
