The ERA 201 and 301 Viscount Series is one of ERA's most established and widely used 5-lever deadlocks — and for good reason. Before we get into the detail, one important point worth knowing upfront: the ERA Viscount Series does not meet BS3621, the British Standard for mortice deadlocks. Most home insurance policies require external doors — front doors, back doors — to be secured with a BS3621-approved lock. The Viscount is not that lock. If you need a BS3621 mortice deadlock for a front or back door where insurance compliance is a requirement, you'll want to look at ERA's British Standard range instead.

That said, for the many situations where BS3621 isn't the requirement, the Viscount is an excellent choice. Internal doors in offices, shops, and commercial premises. Two case sizes cover the most common door preparations: the ERA 201 at 64mm (44mm backset) and the ERA 301 at 76mm (56mm backset). Both are available in Polished Brass and Satin Chrome, making it easy to match the finish to existing door furniture. The lock is Certifire approved for use on 60-minute fire doors, CE marked, and UKCA marked — suitable for doors from 44mm thickness upward.
