Anti Snap Locks and Anti Bump Locks
Lock snapping is a burglary technique whereby the cylinder lock found in a UPVC door is snapped to gain access to the main lock case and gain entry to a property. This cylinder lock vulnerability has been resolved with the introduction of anti snap locks. The companies producing these locks have resolved the issue in different ways, CISA have added a central core to their cylinders that withstands the snap attack, whereas Asec, EVVA and Yale have introduced a snap of point that does not give access to the main lock case. All of the anti snap locks available here at locktrader.co.uk also have anti bump features, this is another cylinder lock security risk that has been found, a special key is inserted into a weak cylinder that can be used with a certain technique to open a door.
