Following the recent cold snap home owners are starting to refill Home Oil Tanks, this in turn is leading to increased oil thefts.  Oil tanks are often in remote location with minimal security making them ideal for thieves!  Here is a list of easy security improvements

• Install a motion activated security light
• Keep all garden gates well maintained  and locked
• Regularly check and keep records of oil levels, sudden drops can be easily spotted
• Purchase a remote gauge with alarm, this will alert sudden level drops
• Fit tank locks secured with a padlock
